Greetings from North Kohala to the Chair and members of the Council 3
and the Finance Committee. I am writing in support of this resolution to enter
into negotiations to acquire lands between Mahukona and Kapa`a in North Kohala
to protect this very important natural resource. This community has deep ties to
this area and many people, both those with roots here, new residents, as well as
visitors and people from adjacent communities, come to this area to enjoy
swimming, paddling fishing, hiking, watching whales, and more. Please fund this
proposal so this land can be kept for the people who will care for it... whose 3
children should be able to be there, too.
