My husband and I moved to North Kohala in 1984.
Mahukona,from the very beginning of our life here, has had an important place in our love for Hawaii.
We were younger then and spent a part of almost every day at Mahukona, mostly in the water and sometimes at night having meals
with friends.
The wharf and water were always filled with people, children learning to swim and everyone having a wonderful time. Once in a
while we would get up our courage to swim to the point North of the harbor and once in a while to swim to Mahu Kona. Sometimes
the water was filled with dolphins and we would be so excited watching the playing in the water.

Please take care of Mahukona for all the people who live her and all the children who have not yet had the chance to know and love
and play there.
