Ae- Date Dear Mr. KoneaU'i-K|e|nfe|der I am writing in support of Resolution 145-21 which enables the County to negotiate for public ownership and protection of Mahukona Mahukona is one of the most important gathering places for the community of North Kohala and the closest one with safe and easy access to the ocean. On any weekend or holiday you will find families and friends meeting there to camp, picnic, swim and fish. For many young children it is the place their parents bring them to swim in the ocean for the:first time and it the place they learn how important it is to protect this incredible resource I personally learned to love the ocean swimming and snorkeling with friends at Mahukono. The abundance and variety offish always fill me with wonder. To encounter a manta ray or honu or to experience being surrounded by a pod of dolphins is unforgettable. And we are so fortunate to have a place so close to home where we can watch the whales or take a walk along the cliffs to see the waves crashing against the rocks Mahukona is a priceless treasure for all of us who live in Kohala and for the many visitors who are drawn here. Its losswould be devastating. Please do all you can to preserve this special place for us and for the generations to come. Maha|o Lynda Wallach Kapa'au, H| 9675S Sent from myiPhona CommNo.Ref.
