Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 154-21, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 154-21, transmitted by Director of Finance Deanna S. Sako via
Communication No. 304 dated June 17, 2021, authorizes the acceptance of a donation of a
one-meter diving stand and diving board to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and
Recreation.
Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder and Committee Member Susan L.K. Lee Loy
provided comments thanking the Hawaii HI-Diving Friends for their donation.
Pursuant to Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council may accept gifts or donations of
money, securities or other personal property. In addition, Hawaii County Code Section 2-162{a}
states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance may be accepted by a resolution
approved by the Council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 154-21,
and recommends its adoption.
