Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 165-21, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 165-21, transmitted by County Clerk Jon Henricks via Communication No. 325
dated June 30, 2021, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for a multi-year lease for one multifunction color printer for the Office of the County
Clerk, Kona Council District Office.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an
approximate monthly cost of$295.
Committee Member Rebecca Villegas expressed thanks to the Department of Finance and the
Office of the County Clerk.
Deputy County Clerk Aaron Brown provided background on the need for a printer.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease, or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year shall be approved by resolution by the County Council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 165-21,
and recommends its adoption.
