It is absolutely unreasonable and unacceptable to give them only three days t6fry to-save the many animals in their care. As alarming as this is, it is also unacceptable that the County has not told the public what their plan is for all of these animals. If there is a plan to keep these animals alive without HRR you need to tell the public immediately what that plan is. If the plan is to euthanize animals, the public and HRR need another 30-90 days to help solve the problem through fostering, adoptions, volunteering and donations. If these animals are euthanized the citizens of this county will be irate. To euthanize these animals is inhumane, unethical and unacceptable. We demand that these animals be given a chance. I know the County Council has received many complaints about HRR. They were only receiving 54% of the funding that the previous vendor received, so I believe they were doing the best they could and trying to improve the situation. I called them twice about stray animals and they were very responsive. They obviously needed more funding. Please do not confiscate the shelters and evict the animals that are currently living in the HRR shelters. Our taxpayer money paid for them and we want the animals to stay there and continue to be cared for. What is the County's plan for the future for these animals? These are OUR island's animals and we care about them. Your constituents deserve an answer and need a concrete plan for the future to be announced now. Sincerely, Rob Mack Volcano, HI 96785 Comm.
