The Hawaii County Council will be meeting to discuss Communication 279 regarding the confirmation of Shani
Armbruster to the Leeward Planning Commission.
I respectfully request the members of the Hawaii County Council to not support the nomination of Shani
Armbruster. During this time of Climate Crisis, global pandemic, economic downturn, displacement of kanaka
maoli and push-back against the tourism industry- Hawaii must have representatives that actually represent the
residents, indigenous population and fragile ecosystem. Most of us are painfully aware that Mayor Roth could
have nominated Ku`ulei Keakealani. We, as tax paying residents, demand accountability! Mitch Roth must
represent his constituents, not just business donors.
