I have emails from Building telling me that my suggestions should have been incorporated, but that there is NO time to change anything before we rush to approve this bill. The bill and amendments were done without the input of any in the design community accept HPM (because they are pushing for manufactured housing additions to the code) The Director said he was looking forward to working together to improve the process, (Back in February) but I have never been contacted and there has been ZERO involvement of the community. No one will even include me in a mailing list updating the progress of the bill or when Council meetings on it are being held. I have written to every single Councilperson to alert them that a map just introduced to the bill last week eliminated 75% of the County from even using the building code that is being passed. please see attached. All areas in Dark grey can not use the Building code. Since no one is answering back (Sue emailed back to say she could not answer because of Sunshine laws???) I would like to introduce the map and possible work arounds into public testimony, but may have missed the chance because of lack of notification. The County Building division has had it on their schedule for a long time that the 2018 Code will go into affect on September 1, 2021 Now we are hearing that "we may get it done early" The package home providers are taking deposits and producing pans based on getting plans submitted before the end of August. Who will be compensating residents and drafting fees, and explaining to hundreds of Irate public it this bill is passed early? The passage of this bill should be put off, Not rushed to an earlier false deadline. I would request a formal response as to the schedule of this bill, and how to submit written testimony before hand. Thanks, Daniel Bona Comm. No Ref. To: i Ref.
