Council Members,
I support Bill 44 adopting the 2018 IBC/IRC/IEBC codes.
Keeping current with model codes benefit the health and safety of communities that use them.
The County of Hawaii, by updating current codes demonstrate they are forward thinking and open
to change that improves lives. If we choose to lag behind current safety and energy codes and k
demonstrate stubbornness to code improvements, the quality of building stock will continually be
lowered.
Please support Bill 44 to make one transition now to the 2018 code that has been amended for our
island.
