Aloha All,
In my reading of Bill 44, which I support by the way, it is only for the 2018 IRC, it does not include the update to the
2018 IBC.
References in the Bill for items that defer to the 'Building Code" do not specify the update to 2018 IBC.
I spoke briefly with a DPW official about this and if I understand correctly, it was indicated that a separate bili may
be introduced for this and that if the 2018 IBC is not
adopted we will revert to the 2012 IBC per the State.
For me this is a major concern because there are so many referenced codes, ACI -318, ASCE 7, NDS, NFPA 13 etc.
etc. etc. that are updated and noted in a newer version of the code. For me it is very important to adopt both the 2018
IBC and 2018 IBC to eliminate confusion for County Staff and the public.
