Mahukona Navigational Heiau is a historic site of immense importance to Hawaiian ocean voyaging.
As one of the few ocean access points in North Kohala, Mahukona is the place generations of Kohala residents
have learned to swim and launch shall boats.
The park pavilion has seen countless community celebrations, meetings, music, events of all types.
The mile long railroad grade between Mahukona and Kapaa is one of the best preserved on the island_ The
gradual incline is suitable for all ages.
We thoroughly support open space purchase of Mahukona.
