WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution
approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Lionel Camara, Jr., Acting Fire Chief, Honolulu Fire Department,
636 South Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, acknowledging this generous donation.
