Home My WebLink AboutRES 181 Draft 01 2020-2022RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF USED EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE HAWAI‘I FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Honolulu Fire Department is donating used equipment to the Hawai‘i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, this equipment consists of the following: Quantity Description Estimated Value 10 Chainsaws $ 5,811.00 6 Circular Saws 5,852.00 20 Hooligans 2,286.00 3 Hoses 501.00 48 Nozzle Shutoffs 18,115.00 32 Nozzles 8,160.00 20 Smoke Ejectors 5,796.00 10 Flow-through Outlets 4,668.00 TOTAL: $ 51,189.00 ; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Lionel Camara, Jr., Acting Fire Chief, Honolulu Fire Department, 636 South Street, Honolulu, Hawai‘i 96813, acknowledging this generous donation.
