Re: Multi-year Agreement with the State of Hawaii Employees' Retirement System

The Department of Finance wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with the State of }
Hawaii Employees' Retirement System (ERS). The agreement will allow the County to
obtain information that will be provided by the ERS actuary which will be needed for the
County's financial statements. '

A. REQUEST:
Prepare a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a mulit-year agreement with the State of Hawaii
Employees' Retirement System (ERS)
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)•
The County is requesting assistance from the ERS in obtaining actuarial information to meet reporting
requirements under the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement No. 68, "Accounting
and Financial Reporting for Pensions" the employers' financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30,
2021 and for fiscal years ending June 30, 2022 through 2026 (FYE 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026)
