WHEREAS, Kona Aquatics, a nonprofit organization based in Kailua Kona is
donating labor and materials to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation;
and
WHEREAS, this labor and materials, valued at approximately $10,000, is to install
new grates on the top of the bulkhead and for welding repairs at the Kona Community
Aquatic Center; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Kona Aquatics, PO Box 2901, Kailua Kona, Hawaii 96745.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the
Office of the Mayor.
