No. 314/Bill No. 52 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 9:30 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 52, reports as follows: Bill No. 52, submitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth dated June 17, 2021, to amend the State Land Use Boundaries maps for the County of Hawai`i by changing the district classification from the Agricultural District to the Urban District at Kalaoa 5th,North Kona, Hawai`i covered by Tax Map Key: 7-3-005:015. The surrounding properties of the subject property are zoned as Urban District classification. The applicants are Timothy Joseph Ward and Kay Lynn Ward. The Leeward Planning Commission forwards its favorable recommendation for this amendment to the State Land Use Boundaries Maps. The property is located at 73-4350 Hawaii Belt Road, South of its intersection with Kaiminani Drive. Bill No. 52 was postponed on July 20, 2021, for Committee Member Holeka Inaba to further engage with the applicants. Due to the applicants, Timothy Ward and Kay Ward, not being present before Your Committee, no discussion was held. The vote was immediately taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with an unfavorable recommendation and failed with 3 "ayes," 5 "noes," and Committee Member Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder absent.
