As you take up the nomination of Roberta Ku'ulei Keakealani to the Hawai'i County Cultural Resources
Commission today please consider our wholehearted support on her behalf.
With Ku'ulei's early involvement with the Cultural Leadership Committee at Kona Village Resort,
established to provide crucial guidance as the hotel rebuilds, we have come to know and appreciate the
consummate knowledge she possesses of not only her homeland, the Ka'upulehu ahupua'a, but of all
matters involving Hawaiian practices and traditions. Ku'ulei's leadership among a diverse group of
people here comes with a certain patience, understanding, and guidance that measurably enhances
everyone's awareness and appreciation the essence of Hawai'ian culture.
As Ku'ulei's wisdom and interpersonal skills will bode well as a member of the Cultural Resources
Commission we encourage your favorable consideration of her during the confirmation process.
