Ku'ulei is the descendant of generation upon generation of natives to this 'aina and continues to perpetuate our living Hawaiian culture. She is an expert in the history of people upon these lands, Hawaiian cultural practices, and their connection to wahi pana around the island. For decades she has been consulted by County, State, Federal, and private individuals regarding land use and historic site preservation because her knowledge and connection to people and place is widely respected throughout the community. She is indeed very, very well suited to take up the tasks of the Commission. I urge you to please confirm and appoint Ku'ulei Keakealani to the Cultural Resources Commission.
