RE: Comm. 318: NOMINATION OF ROBERTA KU'ULEI KEAKEALANI TO THE HAWAII COUNTY
CULTURAL RESOURCES COMMISSION
Aloha Chair Kierkiewicz and members of the committee,
My name is Shane Palacat-Nelsen and I storngly SUPPORT Ms. Roberta Ku'ulei Keakealani to the
Hawai'i County Cultural Resources Commission. Her knoweldge of culture and respect to place-
based protocols in areas of development, ecosystems, and community education and outreach
is extensive. Her experiences and dedication towards her community will bring appropriate
conversations and her compassion for her culture tie in the life of the land.
Mahalo for allowing me to testify and I urge this committee to support Ms. Keakealani's
nomination.
