I support the passage of Support Resolution 161 r
Preservation of Kiolaka'a i
The vision of protecting the Ka`u coast can be achieved and your support in allowing the County to use PONC funds is appreciated.
I have a story to share:
A friend's 20 year old granddaughter came to visit from Oahu. She was the fifth generation living on Oahu. She was driving the car as
we drove along the Ka'u coast Imi e. She stopped the car, got out, and took picture of the coast. Asking why she stopped....her answer
was..."This is the first time
I have ever seen a coastline clear of structures."
This simple happening reminded me of the treasure we have here.
The coast is special...very special. ...and....Ka'u may be among the last... once gone...hard to retrieve.
There much at stake.... It is valuable.
My hope is that young women's children will be able to take a picture of such a landscape.
