Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Carl L. Simons of Kona to the
Hawaii County Ethics Commission to replace Carl A. Carlson, Jr., of Kona,
whose term expired on December 31, 1998.
Mr. Simons is a 36-year resident of Hawaii and since 1980 has been the
president of West Hawaii Concrete. His community involvement is summarized
on the attached sheet. Mr. Simons is a member of the Republican Party.
If approved, Mr. Simons will serve a term which will end on December 31, 2004.
