Additional federally-derived funds in <br /> the amount of$23,000 are being provided by the State Department of the Attorney <br /> General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division to provide technical training <br /> and equipment for digital evidence extraction and analysis for the Hawaii County Police <br /> Department Criminal Investigations Division. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br /> additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's Improve Forensic Services account, <br /> bringing the total appropriation to $78,000. <br /> The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and <br /> be placed on the September 8, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of <br /> these funds.
