RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE CITIES FOR FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT FUND
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for two (2) years with the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund; and
WHEREAS, this agreement is to provide grant funding to the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) based on the financial obligation of matching funds by the County of Hawai‘i;
and
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant
to those powers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
In accordance with section 46-7, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes and Section 10-11 of the County Charter, that the Mayor of the County of Hawai‘i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the
County, a two (2) year agreement, and related documents with the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund to allow the County to receive grant funding as specified above.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to Office of Housing and Community Development, the Office of the Mayor
and the Finance Department.
