A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE NAMING AND DEDICATION OF THE PAHOA
ROUNDABOUT IN MEMORY OF RENS SIRACUSA TO HONOR HER LIFE,
LEGACY, AND SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO PUNA.
Public Works & Mass Transit Committee
Thank you for your consideration in the naming and dedication of the
Pahoa Roundabout in memory of Rene Siracusa. It is with immense honor that the
Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highways Division (HDOT) recommends the
naming and dedication of the Pahoa Roundabout in Memory of Rene Siracusa.
Ms. Siracusa devoted countless hours in the beautification of the Pahoa Roundabout.
As the founding member of Malama O Puna, she coordinated donations of vegetation
and materials and organized volunteers to beautify and upkeep the
Pahoa Roundabout.
HDOT supports the installation of a sign reading: "Rene Siracusa Pahoa Roundabout"
in memory of her significant contributions to the Puna community. The sign dedicated
to the memory of Rene Siracusa would be placed just before the Pahoa Roundabout.
