Aloha. My name is Scott Haililani Mahoney and I am in support of resolution 161. Being a member of the Hawaii Island Burial Council
for the State and also commissioner for the Cultural Resources Commission for the County I am very supportive of this effort to
protect and preserve Kilolaka'a. I have seen first hand all the hundreds of cultural sites and unmarked graves in that area and they
need to be protected from outside endeavors. My genealogy also traces to Moku o Kau and the ahupua'a of Kiolaka'a so I speak for
my ancestors as well.
