------- -- <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •� �" /�• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +84_ oma. ; <br /> f MTM •' • <br /> o .N'P <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 196 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HEART RANCH FOR <br /> ITS EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY,EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING, AND <br /> MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Heart Ranch is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit whose mission is to build confidence, <br /> develop leadership, and encourage growth in children and families through its Equine Assisted <br /> Psychotherapy (EAP), Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), and mentorship programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Heart Ranch operates on a volunteer basis to maintain free participation for <br /> youth that come from backgrounds such as foster care, absent or deceased parents, broken <br /> homes, or with mental health and development struggles such as autism, ADHD (attention- <br /> deficit/hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety, and suicide; and <br /> WHEREAS, Heart Ranch is requesting Contingency Relief Funds to help cover <br /> continued operational expenses and supplies for maintaining its EAP, EAL, and mentorship <br /> programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free <br /> community events and programs that improve the well-being of our youth; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used;now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Heart Ranch for its Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine <br /> Assisted Learning, and mentorship programs for youth development. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
