Ms. Paishon-Duarte is a lifelong Hawaii resident and an award-winning educator, policy maker, and consultant deeply rooted in Hawaiian culture and place. She is the co-founder and CEO of Waiwai Collective, creatively growing community, culture and commerce, and Waiwai i Consulting, developing culturally and community responsive management plans for native ecosystems. 3 J i Mahina earned her bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a graduate certificate in Kahuawaiola Indigenous Teacher Education from the University of Hawaii at Hilo, and her master's degree in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. She actively serves the community in numerous capacities, including as co-founder of`Aina Aloha Economic Futures, Vice Chair of Vibrant Hawaii, and a member of Hui `Oihana, Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
