Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of seven benches and two seats from an
anonymous benefactor through the Friends of Lili`uokalani Gardens. These benches and
chairs, valued at approximately $14,100, will be installed at Lili`uokalani Gardens in
Hilo to replace some deteriorating benches and seats that are currently in the park.

This is a request to create a resolution to accept a donation of seven benches and two seats to replace
deteriorating benches at Liliuokalani Gardens.
S. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFI ATION `USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEE ED ,
Through Friends of Lili'udkalani gardens, an anonymous benefactor wishes to donate seven benches and
two seats to be installed at Lili`uokalani gardens in Hilo.
The benches and.sats are made of polished gray stone and will be replacing the same deteriorating benches
and seats currently in the park.
The total value of these seven benches and two seats are$14,1 W

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 205-21 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF SEVEN (7) BENCHES AND TWO (2)
SEATS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii,this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
