SUBJECT: Presentation of the October 2021 Hdweo Award to Hawaii Fire Department
Awardee on the October 5, 2021 —Parks and Recreation & Public Safety
Committee
We are requesting approximately 10 minutes for presentation of the October 2021 Hdweo Award
to Hawaii Fire Department recipient, Chuck Segawa—Fire Fighter.
The Hdweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Fire and Police 'ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Hdweo"means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawaii County's
finest public servants.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on October 5, 2021, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
