Ms. Kierkiewicz then asked if the Food Systems Plan from Hamakua Institute includes lands
available for food production. Mr. Adams stated that the department does not currently have an
answer to that; however, of Hamakua Institute's two plans, the Food Systems Plan would most
likely have that information.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13, Hawai`i County Charter,
the Mayor is authorized to apply for, receive, and expend the funds for contracts with private
parties, other counties,the State, or the United States government for functions or activities
which the County is authorized to perform.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 203-21,
and recommends its adoption.
