SOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE WREATHS FOR THE WEST
HAWAII VETERANS CEMETERY-PU`U HO`OMAHA O NA PO`E KOA O HAWAPI
OMOANA FOR THE NATIONAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA DAY.
WHEREAS, the mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember the fallen, honor
those that serve, and teach the value of freedom by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at
veterans cemeteries across the United States on December 18, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
wreaths for the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery-Pu`u Ho`omaha O Na Po`e Koa O Hawaii
Komohana ("West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery") ceremony during the National Wreaths Across
America Day; and
WHEREAS, cadets of the Hawaii Wing Civil Air Patrol, Kona Composite Squadron,
will lay the wreaths upon each grave at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for the National
Wreaths Across America Day; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to purchase wreaths for the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for the
National Wreaths Across America Day ceremony on December 18, 2021.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
