JNty 0F.1.4 <br /> o°•waw ,4 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STA'L'E OF HAWAII <br /> �•Q1 wTwa�:'r�� . <br /> P1TE,6 <br /> f.Np <br /> SOLUTION N . <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br /> COUNTY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITRIC <br /> ACID TO CONTROL THE COQUI FROG INFESTATION IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 1. <br /> WHEREAS, the coqui frog infestation continues to present challenges to the residents of <br /> Hawaii County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) is a <br /> 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that has been helping to provide citric acid to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, HCEOC is requesting funds to purchase citric acid to help with controlling <br /> of coqui frogs in the neighborhoods in Council District 1; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the objectives of the Department of Research and Development is to <br /> support research or extension projects on invasive species, such as the coqui frog; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to HCEOC for the purchase of citric acid to <br /> control the coqui frog infestation in Council District 1. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
