Additional funds in the amount of$147,637 for a total award of$197,637 are being provided by the United States Department of Agriculture to provide training and equipment to the Hawaii County Fire Department. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by increasing the appropriation of the Hawaii County Fire Department's Volunteer Fire Assist-Fed account by $107,637, bringing the total appropriation to $197,637. The Fire Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the October 20, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
