Aloha council members,
I ask that you please support the nomination of Faylene Mahina Paishon-Duarte to the Leeward Planning Commission
(Communication 385) again at next reading of this communication. At last the mayor has nominated a person from
outside the development community who can provide a truly fresh perspective—a commission whose need to be
more diverse is dire.
Ms Paishon-Duarte's talents, experience and history bode well for her speaking to a broader swathe of our community
than the commission could otherwise do without her, and she'll hopefully help educate her colleagues to those broader
views.
Mahalo for giving this nominee support on first reading and for following up with a solid "yes"to her appointment.
