SUBJECT: Presentation of the November 2021 Hdweo Award to an HPD Recipient
on November 2 2021 —Parks and Recreation& Public Safety Committee
We are requesting approximately 10 minutes for presentation of the November 2021 Hdweo
Award to Officer Tyler Jelsma of the Hawaii Police Department.
The Hdweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Police and Fire `ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Hdweo"means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawaii County's
finest public servants.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on November 2, 2021, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
