Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Steve A. Morifuji of Hamakua to the
Hawaii County Liquor Commission to replace Earl T. Nakashima of Hamakua,
whose term will expire on December 31, 1999.
Mr. Morifuji is a life-time resident of Hawaii and since 1994 has been the
manager of Mauna Lani Service, Inc. Prior to that, he was with the Del Monte
Corporation. His community service includes membership to the Hamakua Lions
Club and the Cub Scouts of America. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
If approved, Mr. Morifuji will serve a term to end December 31, 2005. Should the
Council have any questions regarding this nomination, you may call me at your
convenience.
