RESOLUTION NO.

RESOLUTION CREATING ONE (1) NEW FIRE CAPTAIN
POSITION FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department is requesting to add
one (1) full-time Fire Captain position; and
WHEREAS, the creation of this position is needed to supervise and
a
assist with the Fire Dispatch workload and improve 911 emergency service
to the public; and
WHEREAS, the position indicated above is a Fire Captain, SR-25
position; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter
states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which
appropriations have been made by the council..."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAI`l that one (1) Fire Captain, SR-25, position be created in the Hawaii
County Fire Department.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance Department, the
Department of Human Resources, and the Hawaii Fire Department.
