INDUSTRY PERMITTING PROCESS AND THE HAWAII ISLAND FILM OFFICE
My Name is James Sogi. I was born here and have lived here for 45 years. My family has 5 generations here for 120
years.
The film industry should be strictly regulated. A cultural and ecological set of restrictions to protect the ecology and
our local life should be conditions of any permit. Cultural and ecological monitors should be hired at their expense to
insure compliance. The monitors should have the power to stop all production for any violation. There should be strict
large monetary penalties for violation.
