Testimony in Support of Council Resolution 223-21
Hello, my name is James A Monk and I am a Kona Coffee farmer.
i
I support the Resolution No. 223-2 proposed by County Councilmember Holeka Inaba (District 8--Kona)which asks the
State Legislature "to amend the minimum percentage requirement for blends of geographically named Hawaii-
grown coffee from 14% to 51%." j
It is long past when Hawaii protects its farmers who grow a world class product and have no protection from the blenders
who use our name to make an inferior product by mixing the wonderful Kona Coffee with much, much cheaper coffees
from around the world.
Please help your farmers by passing this Resolution.
