RE: Bill 75
Aloha Committee and County Council Members,
Mahalo Nui for taking up Bill 75,Amending Chapter 14,Article 1 of the Hawaii County Code 1983, 2016 Edition,as amended, Relating
to Alcoholic Beverages.Bill 75 prohibits the consumption of alcohol at Honaunau Boat Ramp and Manini Beach and Napo'opo'o as
well. Bill 75 was a long time coming.Thank you so much to Councilwoman Maile David for listening to the local South Kona
community and acting in our service. Her perseverance is outstanding. Excessive drinking at these beach parks,whether it's locals or
tourists, has caused so many problems over the years. Displays of public drunkenness set a bad example for the kids and eventually
become a public safety risk. When the party's over they all get in their cars and trucks and pull out onto the highway, putting
themselves and others at risk.
Please vote to amend by supporting Bill 75.
