It is my pleasure to nominate Laurie Soares to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Ms. Soares has been a Hawaii resident for eight years and on the frontline as a registered nurse
at Hilo Medical Center. She volunteers as the Commemorative Events Chair for the Daughters
of the American Revolution(DAR), Hawaii Loa Chapter. DAR was founded in 1890 with the
simple mission of promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Ms. Soares is committed to bringing her experience to the task of assisting with veterans' events.
If confirmed, Ms. Soares will represent as an at-large member with a term to end December 31,
2026.
