Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 81. This proposed amendment would amend SECTION 2 by adding a new section to exempt Hawaii County residents from paying the County transient accommodations tax. This proposed amendment is illustrated in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 81; new material is underscored. SECTION 2 of Bill No. 81 is amended by adding a new section to follow"Section 2- Payment of tax" on page 2, as follows: "Section 2- Exemption. Caj A"resident of Hawaii County"means a person who is domiciled in Hawaii County or resides in Hawaii County for two hundred days or more of the taxable year for other than a temporary or transitory purpose as provided in section 235-1 Hawaii Revised Statutes A resident of Hawaii County shall be exempt from paying the County transient accommodations tax when leasing, letting or renting a transient accommodation in Hawaii County that is subject to taxation under this article."
