RE: Resolution No. 156-99, Draft 2, authorizing the Office of the Mayor to
enter into an agreement with FEMA for a FEMA Project Impact grant.
Attached you will find a second draft of the aforementioned resolution incorporating
amendments approved at the Committee on Finance meeting of October 27, 1999.
The amendments are as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with
Federal Emergency Management Agency to carry out a program to study
prepazation for and mitigation of natural disasters, [such as] including but not
limited to floods, earthquakes, wildfires;
humcanes and tsunamis, and to
improve emergency education, communication and warning systems and to
harden emergency energy systems.
