RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF MONETARY AND
OTHERDONATIONS TO THE COUNTY OF HA I`1
WHEREAS, various individuals and entities are providing donations to the
County of Hawaii for the TEDx Countdown Summit; and
WHEREAS, these donations (Exhibit A) will be used towards the County of
HawaiTs "TEDxCountyofHawai`i: Local Insights Grow Global Solutions" presentation
that focuses on sustainability and resilience; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution
approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letters of appreciation and copies of this
resolution be sent to the donors whose addresses are contained within Exhibit A, and
that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Department of Finance and the Office of the
Mayor to acknowledge these generous donations.
