RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF MONETARY AND OTHER DONATIONS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I
WHEREAS, various individuals and entities are providing donations to the County of Hawai‘i for the TEDx Countdown Summit; and
WHEREAS, these donations (Exhibit A) will be used towards the County of Hawai‘i's "TEDxCountyofHawaiʻi: Local Insights Grow Global Solutions" presentation that focuses on sustainability
and resilience; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letters of appreciation and copies of this resolution be sent to the donors whose addresses are contained within Exhibit A, and that a copy of this resolution
be sent to the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor to acknowledge these generous donations.
