Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following people to the Hawaii County
Transportation Commission:
Laura Y. Chock of Council District 2 to replace Gary H. Ichinose of Council
District 2, whose term will expire on December 31, 1999. Mrs. Chock was
a Teacher/Supervisor with the State Department of Education until her
retirement in 1978. She states that she has no affiliation to any political
party.
Burnalyn L. Yee of Council District 5 to replace Sophie T. Keller of Council
District 5 whose term will expire on December 31, 1999. Since 1985 she
has been a Community Facilitator with the HCEOC. She is a member of
the Democratic Party.
If approved, both Mses. Chock and Yee will serve terms to end on December 31,
2000. Your review and favorable recommendation would be appreciated.
