Our community(your constituency)worked to start the Public Access,Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation program in 2006. It is funded by 2%of property tax revenue. Last year, your constituents approved an amendment directing the hiring of an administrator to acquire properties, seek matching funds, and pursue grants for stewardship of the lands. Voters also approved an amendment to expedite grants to non-profits doing maintenance and stewardship. It sppears that neither amendment has been effectively enacted. Your constituents have spoken. It has been a year. I urge you to work for your voters to enact these clear amendments to more effectively preserve and protect our most special places. Thank you, David Hunt, Honokaa, HI v r & Aloha, Peace, Love, Music & Gratitude Comm. o Ref. To: Ref. rate NV 6 2021 1
