Subject: Please SUPPORT Bill 81 Transient Accommodation Tax (TAT) Increase
Aloha
We appreciate the County proposing Bill 81 and the majority of the Council's Support for 13111 81
• This 3% increase in the TAT is much needed at this time with such a very significant deficit in the County and
State revenue.
• With tourism still not rebounding, enacting this Bill is needed. In addition, it will benefit even more as
tourism continues to rebound
• This additional tax will help to continue to fund much needed government services
• Since tourists and other transient visitors already realize that staying in Hawaii is expensive, this 3% increase
will have no or very minimal effect on decreasing tourism
• Strongly suggest the State Legislature propose a higher increase in the TAT to help the County and State
recover economically
