Dear County Councilmembers: �-
I am a coffee farmer in Holualoa in the North Kona District, and I strongly support Resolution No 223-21.
For more than 30 years Hawaii has been the only region anywhere in the world to authorize the use of its regional
names ("Kau", "Kona", "Maui", "Hawaii") on packages of one of its agricultural products with only 10%of the
content grown in the named region. The 101 coffee blend labeling law is a disgrace to the State of Hawaii. 10%
coffee blends take money from coffee farmers, deceive consumers and damage the reputation of Hawaii-grown
coffees.
Please pass this resolution and send an important message to the Legislature. It is long past time for the Legislature
to act.
