I have been living in Kona for 29 years, and learned to appreciate 100 % Kona Coffee.
It is known all over the world, and often used asgifts. The main reason, why it is so respected and
sought after is because it is pure Kona Coffee, something you can only get in West Hawaii, only
grown here.
Blending coffee is fine, nothing wrong with it, but it should be clearly marked as blended coffee, not
Kona blend, or Kona Coffee.
If it is blended, Kona Coffee is just an ingredient, and not the main one.
You can't buy fish soup were 90 % of the soup is pork, 10 % fish.
You can't buy corn chips that are 80 % potato.
You can't by Florida orange juice that is 80 % imported.
You can't buy Bordeaux wine that is 90 % blended with other wines.
False advertising is what it is, false advertising.
If it would only lure tourists and buyers to buy blended coffee, thinking that it is Kona Coffee, that
would be one thing.
The bigger problem is that it provides a cheaper, fake alternative to real Kona Coffee, making Kona
Coffee appear to be unreasonable expensive.
You can't have an industry and at the same time destroying its base, the Kona Coffee Farmers.
